Pine View PeaceJam students work with the Laurel Civic Center after school program both tutoring and doing service projects with the participants.

The day started with asking the question "Who was Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.?," and after the discussion, the group cleaned up Laurel Park with enthusiasm.

After the cleaning, the Pine View PeaceJammers led snack time and a session called "Speech Jam."

Pine View students look forward to continuing their work with the Laurel Civic Center's after school program - teaching youth how to leave a lasting legacy through service.Prosperity ONE Community Development Fund recently partnered with Halton Learning Foundation as part of their Adopt a School Program, donating $2,500 to Pineview Public School, to acquire reading and audio materials for the school’s classrooms and library in order to accommodate the wide range of student reading abilities. On hand for the presentation were (from left) Pineview principal Jane McCarter, students Sam Hudson, Cassidy Bell, and Brady Wallace, and in back Prosperity ONE CEO Mike Shepherd and Georgetown Branch Manager Mark Pearce.

The San Francisco Zoo offers teachers a fabulous way to teach California biodiversity to elementary students. The free lessons provide teachers with activities and experiments to inspire students to learn all they can about their animal. After the lessons are finished, students create their masterpiece and enter it in the Wild About Art and Science Contest.
