Reschools

One of the many pleasures of owning a horse is the opportunity of going for hacks in the glorious countryside. Many horses, as well as their riders, appreciate the break from the hard work of schooling and look forward to a laid back amble through the countryside. However, as with all horses, there are exceptions. Some horses detest leaving the yard and it can put an end to any pleasurable rides out. There are things you can do to help your horse overcome this problem.

Why Your Horse is Napping

There are usually a number of possible reasons for your horses' behaviour in any given situation. It is up to you to figure out which of those reasons is causing the behaviour. The first thing to rule out in a horse that is napping is any physical problem, particularly if the behaviour is a new one. Have his back and teeth checked. If he is given the all clear then you need to ask some questions. Is your horse new to the yard? Does he have a particular friend that he doesn't want to leave? Is he a new horse to you? Is he new to the surrounding countryside?
